Not much to say about this one, or last week's episode, mainly because I was very impressed with both of them. One of the reasons why I enjoyed them so much is because it's not too difficult to imagine "The Fires of Pompeii" or "Planet of the Ood" as 'old-school', 'trad', Fourth of Fifth Doctor stories; "Planet of the Ood" even has a traditionally timed cliffhanger moment at the 22 minute mark.

A lot of this of course has to do with the new Doctor/companion dynamic; again, I have to say, it wasn't too hard to imagine Janet Fielding or Elisabeth Sladen delivering some of Donna's lines this evening. Let's hope that Helen Raynor can maintain this standard.

There was a cliffhanger moment at a similar point last week too...

This is the first episode this season that I've had to watch on the iPlayer to catch up, so the timing stood out even more for me... (and it was nice to listen to Graeme Harper's stereo gun fire sound effects through the headphones.)

That's my review posted - the 'trad' element is represented by my look at the way this story turned the Doctor into an investigator again; he had little foreknowledge of events, which was welcome.
