Hot and Cold
Apr. 19th, 2008 09:04 pmNot much to say about this one, or last week's episode, mainly because I was very impressed with both of them. One of the reasons why I enjoyed them so much is because it's not too difficult to imagine "The Fires of Pompeii" or "Planet of the Ood" as 'old-school', 'trad', Fourth of Fifth Doctor stories; "Planet of the Ood" even has a traditionally timed cliffhanger moment at the 22 minute mark.
A lot of this of course has to do with the new Doctor/companion dynamic; again, I have to say, it wasn't too hard to imagine Janet Fielding or Elisabeth Sladen delivering some of Donna's lines this evening. Let's hope that Helen Raynor can maintain this standard.
