Eight things about me meme

Here are the rules:
1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog. (I'm not entirely sure this is necessary in the case of mutual LJ-friends; it seems more applicable to the wider blogosphere.)
When I was young one of my favourite foods was Heinz spaghetti hoops in beef sauce, a treat that didn’t make it out of the 1970s as one of the 57 varieties.
I’ve sold hot dogs to Nigel Benn, Darren “Sicknote” Anderton, and popcorn to Kriss Akabusi. More recently, I’ve sold books to Diane Keen (The Other Boleyn Girl) and Rolf Harris (a book about Nelson).
I’ve won “The Bookseller” crossword competition five times. The prize is a bottle of port.
When I worked for UCI the company encouraged staff to pick their favourite film and have it embossed on their name badge, to provide a talking point for guests. I chose “Nothing Sacred”, a delicious 1940s black comedy starring Carole Lombard. Nobody asked me about the film, ever.
My name appears in print in the following books: “Doctor Who – The Television Companion”, “Licence Denied – Rumblings from the Doctor Who Underground”, and “Dead Heat”, a cracking Australian thriller by Caroline Carver.
Twenty five years ago I went to the cinema on my own, unaccompanied by parents, for the first time – the film was “Star Trek II – The Wrath of Khan.” The cinema is now a McDonalds.
The same year I caught six pike during a week’s holiday at Lac des Isles in Saskatchewan, the only time I’ve ever been fishing.
It will always be the NFT to me, not the BFI Southbank, and watching something old or something very new there for the first time with an appreciative audience and a friend or two is one of my favourite things to do.

parrot_knight, I'm not going to tag anyone, although I'd be interested to read
girlygoth's memories (but I suspect her OU Astrophysics is taking up all her free time.)
