gervase_fenA quiet afternoon was enlivened by a visit from Jay, the previous manager who is now a fully qualified firefighter. He came in, resplendent in the uniform black polo shirt, to buy a street atlas of Surrey. This was of course for official use, so we enjoyed picturing him speeding along on an urgent call flipping back and forth between pages 43 and 54. The icing on the cake - literally - was a call coming through on Jay's walkie-talkie, requesting him to state his location, and then to proceed to Tesco's to buy a Victoria sponge.
In other news - we received the first outline of the W's summer promotions, which kick off on May 17th. The 3-for-2 on all audio was not unexpected. 3-for-2 on all Ordnance Survey maps and all erotic fiction was a bit surprising. For people who aren't sure if they're coming or going, I suspect.
