Will you tolerate this?
Oct. 7th, 2006 06:55 pmWell, I liked the ending! As for the rest...
* I found the action set-pieces uninspiring : the 'triple-play' stunt shots from three different angles and the slow-mo combat just seemed lifeless to me.
* I'm sure there will be chemistry between Robin and Marian - eventually.
* I liked the occasional bits of historical context (the Saracen bow, for instance) and a bit more would have been appreciated. (I don't think Robin's cloth-dying conquest with her perm did much for the sense of period, though.)
* Some Post-Crusade-Traumatic-Stress for Much in the bath - nice to see ; Much has more of an interior life than his master does.
* Is it just my terrible TV reception, or is it that the Greenwood isn't very green?

* Somehow Robin didn't have time to shave, but he did have time for a sharp haircut and styling products. His chin is so cleft it looks like buttocks. He is so trendy it makes me feel faintly ill.
* I think Much's interior life is more likely to be tapeworm than PTSD.
* Someone has been watching too much Lord of the Rings.
* Most. Annoying. Scene. Changes. Ever.
* Do you think they were trying to make it Topical, with Evil Pope Dubya roping Good King Tony into his wicked war in the Middle East? Luckily for the peasants, Cameron Hoodie is at hand prescribing tax cuts as the panacea for the economy.
* Richard Armitage does a great job as the poor man's Sean Bean, though.
