I've never lived in a marginal constituency before, let alone a 'target seat', so full marks to the challenging party for delivering a mailshot to the flat the day before the election. As you know, I have been travelling all over Britain in the last few weeks - as well as taking a little time out when our first baby arrived. Much more pleasant than the BNP newspaper that was pushed onto the doormat last week - a bit like coming home to find the contents of the cat's litter tray pushed through the letter box.

We've been selling the three main party manifestos in the shop, and it seems to me that we either sell all three in one go or just the cheapest one of the lot. UKIP missed a trick by not printing anything up - we've had direct people to the pdf file on their website.

In other news, I have now been sent three separate copies, from three different sources, of the audiobook CD "The Feel the Fear Guide to... Lasting Love". Thanks, and, er, what are you trying to tell me, exactly?

I hadn't heard of the 'Feel the Fear' guides - what exactly are they?

These are a series of self-help/relationship guides from Susan Jeffers - "Feel the fear and do it anyway" being the ur-text. Her work sells pretty steadily, usually by word of mouth recommendation. Her speaking voice is, unnervingly, quite close to Majel Barrett's!
