Say Uncle

So... following my sojourn back home I left my mobile phone charger lead behind. Before it died on me completely, I retrieved one text message from my youngest brother :

"How does Uncle Paul sound?"

A couple of phone calls later, and it seems that I will have another birthday to remember in February (apart from both of my brothers' and my maternal grandmother's).

My niece/nephew will be the first addition to the UK branch of the family since 1976, and I will become the first uncle since 1970. I now have seven months or so to work on my lovable eccentricities!

My morbid mind immediately wondered about telephone diagnoses of an an elderly uncle who might be going dotty... My sister and I are unlikely to give each other anything but niece-puppies (of whom I have two at present).

I have two or possibly three junior generation cousins, but I've never met them and likely never will until the cousin who produced them leaves the cult where she met her bigamist husband...

Thanks! I told my brother that, if my nephew/niece arrives in early February, on a Saturday, say between 7.30 and 8.30, not to phone me straight away...
