Russell T Davies' homage to the Doctor Who Weekly comic strip - visual tips of the hat to Shayde, conceptual to the Wrarth Warriors and Blackcastle being sucked into a black hole. As it's one of my favourite eras of Doctor Who, I'm not complaining.

I'd not thought of the comic strip, but you are right - I'm sure the Doctor could have charmed the Judoon back for tea and cake if he had more time. Perhaps Sharon was Martha's aunt?
