I've been a bit flu-ey the past week or so ; came close to phoning in sick last Tuesday and then realised that I'd have to inform myself in store of my absence. I have also been 'tasked' with devising my own personal development plan. "Situational Leadership" is apparently what is required these days, or so I've been told. "Situational Improvisation" is more my style, to be honest.
I've caught up now with Series 2 and the first few episodes of Series 3 of "The Sandbaggers" - among the many pleasures on offer are a young Sue Holderness, three or four years before she becomes Marlene in "Only Fools and Horses", playing (effectively) Liz Shaw - a savvy, sharp, intelligent bluestocking secretary. There's also an epic walk-and-talk conversation between Burnside and Darcy, his MI5 counterpart, that any episode of "The West Wing" would be proud of. And is that Glynis Barber as a KGB honeytrap agent? Indeed it is.
