Cambridge, Day 1, morning
Jul. 27th, 2006 11:11 amUp at 5 am, and we reached the St Bede's School car park at 9.05 this morning - really good going, and that included a stop off at a service station for tea, tomatoes and ham rolls. Nigel was reasonably amused that this year he was given a notice to display in his car - "THERE IS NOTHING OF VALUE IN HERE" - by the Cambridgeshire police.
We're camped under a spreading chestnut tree, and the weather so far is sultry. I'm now going to pop into town to buy a sun hat and a collapsible chair - and cast a professional eye over the Waterstone's (and perhaps load up on their 3-for-2 crime fiction deal - I'm missing some of the most recent Steven Saylor Roma Sub Rosa novels.)
Tonight will either be dinner with Rosemary's sister or Chumbawumba acoustic.
