I met my Intranet deadline with a good four days to spare, and can now forget about percentage increases in CD sales over the Christmas period until next year. Ironically, I missed off one key title from my initial batch of previews, namely :
( You Know Our Ways )
I didn't go to Basingstoke in the end : they finished setting up on the day before I was due to visit, so I went to the movies instead. "Super Size Me" is very funny and very scary - look out for the scene where a five year old girl identifies a picture of a beatific Jesus as "President Bush". "A Tale of Two Sisters" is just very, very scary!
Home entertainment has been provided by the first series of "Cribb", courtesy of Lovefilm. This is a well-written, beautifully acted homage to Victorian detective fiction made by Granada in 1980. If you ever wondered if the actress who played Zeona in the Blake's 7 episode "Warlord" ever did anything to acquire an Equity card, then watch the last episode, "Wobble to Death".
At work we're starting to stock up on staff now, which means that I'm less worried about being trapped on the tills ; I've also been paid part of a sales bonus that I earned at my last shop, so I'm feeling less guilty about blowing £160 on tickets for the London Film Festival!
