I've finished my Paul Temple commission, and was pleased to find out that the last release, "The Margo Mystery", was our best-selling audio title nationwide in May and June. I hope I've explained to anyone reading the article (a readership who I guarantee will be far too young to know the series, or the cachet of "A Francis Durbridge Mystery", or the classic theme tune 'Coronation Scot') why the stories still appeal.

I've been invited to attend the Spoken Word Awards at the Dorchester Hotel in September! I'm going as a guest of one of the judges, and where I hope to see two things happen :

a) Martin Jarvis collect some award or other (he's nominated in about four different categories)

b) "Little Britain" win the comedy award, with an acceptance speech by Marjorie Dawes of Fat Fighters. Or Lou and Andy.

It sounds as if the afternoon of the awards will involve meeting my editor from Head Office, as well as Emma and Louise from the committee - possibly featuring presentations and pitches from publishers, which should be fascinating.

I'm also getting regular review copies of new Random House audio titles, which is extremely nice, although I don't really have time to listen to and write about them!
Now that the September piece is out of the way I should really give them a whirl.
